The 2026 edition of WCMF is nicknamed “The Festival That Never Sleeps” for its all-night sets. It is bringing together artists from across the Caribbean, the French Antilles, Africa and North America for three nights of Cadence-lypso, Konpa, Zouk, Bouyon, Soukous and Zydeco performances.
The festival was launched in 1997 to promote Dominican tourism and showcase indigenous Creole music, and remains a centrepiece of the island’s Creole Heritage Month. Festival passes are available at DominicaFestivals.com.
The fare promotion is expected to boost inter-island travel to Dominica ahead of the festival weekend.
This year’s edition will see the showcase of genres such as R&B, soca, dancehall, reggae, bouyon, cadence-lypso, kompa, soukous and amapiano. The Grammy winning American R&B singer NE-YO is set to perform at WCMF 2026, which remains the source of excitement among the people attending this year’s festival.
