Brixton, South London: A 39-year-old man who removed his condom without the consent of the female he was having sex with has been sentenced to four years and three months in prison. A UK court on Thursday called this a ‘milestone’ legal case and passed the sentence. The suspect, named Guy Mukendi of South London, was sentenced at Inner London Crown Court for the rape of a woman last year.

According to the information, the female had consented to sex with Mukendi on the condition that a condom would be used, but he removed it without her knowledge during the intercourse.

Following this, the female reported the assault on May 9, 2023, and Mukendi was found guilty by a jury in a rare conviction on April 2 this year.

The London Metropolitan police officers reported that the victim was provided with complete support during the ‘extremely difficult time’ as soon as she first filed the complaint.

After the complaint was registered, the officers worked with the female to obtain screenshots of messages Mukendi sent where he apologised for taking the condom off and where he also intended to explain his actions by saying that he had not had sex in a long time.

After the messages had been read, the suspect deleted them, but the screenshots contributed to securing his conviction.

The court explained that non consensual condom removal is classified as rape under English as well as Welsh Law because it should not be one person’s choice to do so it should be of both of them who have consented to sleep together. The removal of condoms is also known as ‘stealthing’ and is a serious crime in England.

With a sentence of 51 months to jail, the UK Court has set an example for others who think about indulging with women wrongfully and without their consent.
