Roseau, Dominica:  Major developmental projects undergoing in Dominica are the signal towards the sound economic state of the country. This marks the unwavering support of the Dominica Labour Party towards the growth and development of the country.  Such achievements under the administration of labour are acting as a thorn in the eyes of the opposition (United Workers’ Party). The UWP and his leader Lennox Linton is making every possible effort to undermine the economic state of the country which with each passing day is highlighting the projections for a stronger state. Such a boost is the positive outcome of the developmental seeds being sown in the country. UWP with its agenda to put down the projects is trying to make their way clear by spreading pessimism about the country’s economic future. The party even got success in their actions as they succeded in laying a halt on the operations of new international airport construction. As per the records by the experts, it has come into light that 4.6% growth of Dominica is projected. Such a figure has been reported by the International Monetary Fund that fosters financial stability. The misleading actions of the opposition leader Lennox Linton is making the attempts to halt the national progress. During his tenure, the minister was accused of being engaged in corrupt activities, the reports stated that the amount of $1 million was accepted by him from a businessman Terry Baron. Linton’s such intentions are not the matter of one time, however since so long he has been in the deeds of harming the country’s position through his various actions. Just two months ago, the opposition proposed a “Do Nothing” Campaign, under which the opposition urged the general public to do nothing for a week so that it could lead to economic loss. Such a stance evidently states of UWP’s intentions to harm the economic future. This is not the limit as the opposition as well was suspected last year to be involved in the campaign of defaming the country's Citizenship by Investment Programme. This led to major damage to the integrity of the CBI Programme. Considerably, this story was uncovered by Al Jazeera - a prominent media network. Their investigation revealed the involvement of UWP in defaming the CBI Programme and as its result, the UK suspended the visa-waiver agreement. Such damage to the country’s economic status is clearly presenting the intentions of the opposition to degrade the reputation of Dominica.
