Guyana: 66-year-old tossed in air as speeding motorcyclist hits him
According to the information, the accident occurred on the public road at Mc Doom and resulted in huge chaos.

The police said that the preliminary investigations disclosed that Sewcharan was struck down by motorcycle CL 9030, driven by a 29-year-old from the area of Craig, East Bank Demerara.
It is said that the motorcyclist was proceeding north along the western carriageway at a fast pace while the victim was crossing the road from west to east on the pedestrian crossing.The vehicles moving south on both the eastern and western drive lanes stopped for the 66 year old to cross the road. As he came to the center of the road, the motorcyclist failed to stop and proceeded further south and eventually hitting Sewcharan.
The witnesses reported that the male was flung some distance away from the pedestrian crossing and landed on the road surface, resulting in him sustaining several injuries.The passersby called the medical authorities, who took the pedestrian to the Georgetown Public Hospital's Accident and Emergency Unit in an unconscious condition. He was examined and was being treated by Doctor Jhagru but later succumbed to his injuries while receiving the treatment.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident, and notice of intended prosecution has been served to the motorcyclist, who is currently assisting with the investigations.Meanwhile, the citizens and residents of the country are urging the motorists to drive slow as there is an increase in the number of road accidents taking place since the beginning of this year.
"And this is because of the speed stop the speeding and help to saves life's my condolences to his entire families and friends," wrote a user named Joylyn Mclean, while another user shared her own experience and said, "I always say these motorcyclists don't know how to used the road the other day I was crossing on the pedestrian on high Street and because I didn't stop for him to pass, he shout out to me I am mad and start going on."
