Brothers aged 10 and 15 paralyzed mysteriously months apart in Jamaica

Jamaica: In a shocking incident, two brothers of Jamaica aged 15 and 10 got paralyzed just months apart with no reason known yet. The residents in the rural district of Clifton in Bernard Lodge, St Catherine, are still wrapping their heads over this mystery.According to the sources, 15-year-old Amari Carby and 10-year-old Kemoy Allen were very active and used to visit school and church and also play and have fun with other children, but because of some mysterious problem, the boys are now wheelchair-bound.A concerned resident said that his heart aches every time he sees them and wishes he could do something to improve their condition. He also said that not even the doctors have been able to determine what caused them to end up unable to use their legs. The assistant leader of the community service department at the Clifton Seventh day Adventist Church, Cynthia Brivit, has played an active role in the lives of the boys as it is very difficult for their mother alone to handle the situation. Brivit makes sure that the boys attend church every Sabbath and during the week she helps the mother in taking care of them. During a recent interview, when asked for the cause behind their physical condition, Brivit revealed that nobody could say, not even their mother. She added that Amari first started to walk in a funny way and was taken for treatment, but his condition continued to deteriorate, and eventually, he became paralyzed. Brivit noted that after a few months, Kemoy started to walk in an unusual manner which forced his parents to think that he was imitating his brother, but it was later that they realised he was losing strength in his feet and was falling. The parents took him for examination only to find that he was losing control of movements in his lower limbs. The residents of the area are left concerned with the mysterious condition leading the young boys to become paraplegic. Brivit is also urging the government officials to help the boys to go to school and also to receive regular medical treatment.
