Tobago-born pilot surprises mother on United Airlines flight en route to Trinidad

Trinidad and Tobago: A Tobago-born pilot, Jerome Lawrence, achieved his long-term goal of flying his mother aboard a recent United Airlines flight from Houston to Port of Spain. He surprised his mother, who was onboard the flight in first class and didn't know that her son was piloting the aircraft. The emotional act aboard the flight sent the passengers into tears, and they were moved by the touching moment in their hearts. As soon as the Tobagonian pilot based in Florida made the announcement aboard the flight, his mother was seen confused after hearing the familiar voice. However, when he announced his name, her mother got emotional, and tears were seen flowing from her eyes. During the announcement, the pilot said that it was a special moment for him and added, "I'd like to share with you guys a lady here, and she's in first class. Here's my mom; it's my first time flying her to Trinidad, and it's my first time landing back in Trinidad after 17 years." He further added that it was his pleasure to have all the passengers onboard. On board the United Airlines flight, the pilot stated that he was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, and he can't even begin to express how important it is to share this moment with all the attendees. The mother and son were seen sharing a heartwarming hug after Lawrence was done with his announcement which led to several passengers wiping away their tears at that exhilarating moment. While sharing the development on a Facebook post, the Tobago-based pilot said that all he missed was his father who passed away last year but added that he is watching him and his mother enjoying this moment from the sky. "My dad should have been here on this flight, but he decided to fly higher than all of us. He's up there with the other angels' watch watching over us," he outlined during the Personal Announcement he made aboard the flight. In addition to this, Lawrence added that he was going to do all of this after becoming the captain but his colleagues aboard the flight encouraged him to achieve this goal of his which he had been thinking about since long. He also thanked the staff on the airline for making this possible and said that they helped him block the view of her mother so that it would remain a wonderful surprise for her.
