This award was presented in partnership with the Caribbean Alliance for Sustainable Tourism is strived at recognising destinations with a primary focus on resiliency as shown by their dedications to address some or all of the UNWTO’s 17 sustainable development goals.

Saint Lucia proudly secures Caribbean Destination Resilience Award
Saint Lucia has received the highest honour by receiving the prestigious Caribbean Destination Resilience Award by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA). This award was presented in partnership with the Caribbean Alliance for Sustainable Tourism is strived at recognising destinations with a primary focus on resiliency as shown by their dedications to address some or all of the UNWTO’s 17 sustainable development goals.  This significant accolade recognised the island’s exemplary leadership, innovative strategies as well as collaborative efforts by both public as well as private sector stakeholders to advance sustainability in tourism.  The award by presented in Jamaica on Monday where it was received by President of the Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association, Paul Collymore and the Senior Sales Manager for North America Richard Moss.  [caption id="attachment_71579" align="aligncenter" width="301"] President of the Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association, Paul Collymore and the Senior Sales Manager for North America Richard Moss receiving the award (PC - Facebook)[/caption] Not only this, but also the island is making a major impact at the ongoing 2024 CHTA Caribbean Travel Marketplace from May 19 to 23 in Jamaica. The delegation is being led by the Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Senator Guibion Ferdinand.  The Permanent Secretary is being joined by other officials from the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority. While talking about the team’s participation in the marketplace, Senator Ferdinand stated that his team was thrilled for the chance to participate in the 2024 CHTA and they look forward to engaging with industry leaders.  He also said that this event is a huge chance to promote the unique attractions of the island nation and also to build strong relationships which will boost growth and development of the tourism sector.  As the professionals from the tourism industry from across the Caribbean gather to discuss major issues, trends as well as opportunities within the sector, a major highlight of the conference will be the participation of Saint Lucia in a high-profile media conference on Tuesday.  Moreover, Saint Lucia hosted a familiarization experience for travel-focused media partners from May 16 to 19 as they made their way to Jamaica for this significant conference.
