Belize: Teacher rapes minor multiple times at school

Belize: A 50-year-old teacher was arrested and charged with two counts of rape in Southern Belize. The incident took place on two occasions, specifically on May 7 and May 10, inside the school's bathroom. According to the police officials, Santiago Tosh, a primary school teacher of Aguacate Village, Toledo District, reportedly handed himself to the police on Tuesday after getting to know about the report by the 13-year-old student. After the teacher surrendered himself, the police arrested and charged him with various offenses related to sexual abuse with a student who was a minor. While informing the public about the incident, the police said that the minor alleged that the teacher had unlawful sexual intercourse with her on two occasions, specifically, May 7 and May 10, inside the school's bathroom.Following the report was made, a medical examination was conducted on the child, confirming that she was sexually abused by someone. The teacher himself got scared upon hearing about the report and handed himself to the police. The police added that the suspect was taken to court on Thursday and was remanded to the Belize Central Prison and is due back in court on June 27, 2024. Meanwhile, the identity of the victim has not been revealed by the officials because of the security concerns with the police urging the citizens to make minor aware about such things. The citizens and residents of the country have also expressed their anger over the incident with some even saying that the kids are not safe anywhere." I have no tolerance for child abuse and MUCH LESS when you're in a position of trust. I would bet money that this is not the first occurrence," wrote a user named Fred Gill while another user said, "Seems like we parents need to chain ourselves to our kids mien caz rapists & child molesters is everywhere watching these babies, can't nobody be trusted."
