Father’s Day 2024: St. Kitts and Nevis leaders celebrate fathers of their constituencies

PM Drew said that he celebrated Father’s Day with the fathers of constituency #8 at the pre-Father’s Day Chill.

St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew and other cabinet ministers hosted various events on Sunday, June 16, in their constituencies to celebrate the fathers on the occasion of Father’s Day.

PM Drew said that he celebrated Father’s Day with the fathers of constituency #8 at the pre-Father’s Day Chill. He engaged in several discussions with them while having some food and drinks. They also played board games, races, and much more while being entertained by live music and karaoke.

On this special day, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley thanked the leaders of the country who have been a mentor for several young children.

He noted, “There is much evidence around us that cements the value of fathers. I salute the men of our nation, not just today but every day, for stepping up to help raise our children. Thanks for being exemplary leaders as our children are watching. You and your actions or lack thereof will continue to influence the caliber of individuals they will become.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas hosted an event at the FarmHouse of enchanting “Kittitian Hill Development”. He said that he had serious conversations over a sumptuous breakfast which turned into a brunch prepared and serve by the local staff.

This event saw discussions about how the citizens’ lives were dramatically transformed in transitioning from sugar to tourism from 2004-2005, using the popular leading international SKN Citizenship by Investment Programme. The Conversations also gave us the opportunity to discuss community challengesthey face as a people in Constituency 6.

Not only this, but also the Minister of Agriculture and Sports, Samal Duggins, hosted a special event in Constituency 4, during which he had a great time with the fathers. All of them engaged in bun eating, beer drinking, tug of war, and much more exciting activities while being entertained by Outstanding Sounds.

On the other hand, Minister Konris Maynard shared glimpses of himself with his daughters and noted that one of his greatest responsibilities he has in life is to be a good father to both of them.

The Minister wished all the fathers and their children on the special occasion and called out each of them to celebrate each other before the time runs out.

It is to be noted that every year the leaders hosts such events to encourage the men who are often overlooked because they keep themselves busy while earning break for their families.
