It is to be noted that the marina will be designed in a way that it can withstand severe weather events and consists of a 110-acre basin which is placed strategically on the island’s leeward side and is fortified by a substantial breakwater in order to ensure year-round tranquillity and accessibility.
Reportedly, the marina will feature luxurious amenities which will include a 25,000 square feet members-only yacht club, a nightclub as well as a casino all of which are envisioned by Zaha Hadid Architects.
Habacoa’s developers have chosen Zaha Hadid Architects to design both the Yatch Club as well as Nighclub and Casino.
The development strives to become North America’s largest and most comprehensive marina and is schedule for completion in 2027. Also, a head of agreement for this project was signed earlier in 2020.The developers have also unveiled designs for the new superyacht marina in the Bahamas. Integrating sustainable design technologies along with environmentally responsible materials as well as renewable energy generation, the Habacoa’s architecture will seamlessly connect with the natural environment of the island.
