St Kitts and Nevis records no fresh SARS-CoV-2 case.
Basseterre: A significant triumph arrives for Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris led-administration as no new case of the COVID-19 virus has been recorded in St Kitts and Nevis. The data has been shared in Sunday's report of the health ministry, which shows no individual tested positive for the viral disease.

With this, the twin-island Federation currently holds thirty-two active infection cases of the COVID-19 mutant, out of which twenty-eight (28) in St Kitts and four (4) in Nevis.

Since the novel coronavirus pandemic began in St Kitts and Nevis, which was in the month of March 2021, the healthcare staff recorded a total of 5,523 confirmed cases of the SARS-CoV-2 till now.

Of these confirmed cases, 4,688 were reported in St Kitts and the remaining 835 in Nevis.

Data in the health ministry's update report further highlights that so far, there are a total of 5,449 COVID-19 patients who recovered from the mutant. St Kitts holds a 4,625 recovery rate, and for Nevis, the COVID-19 recoveries stand at 824.

To date, at least forty-two COVID-19 patients lost their lives to the deadliest viral illness. The death rate of St Kitts island is thirty-five (35), while in Nevis, it is seven (7), as per statics mentioned in the report by the health ministry.

The stringent COVID-19 health policies and containment measures of St Kitts and Nevis government assisted the country in declining its tally of the novel coronavirus infections. These measures taken by the Team Unity government helped the island country in getting back on track and reviving its devastated economy; the return of cruise ships in hundreds is evidence of this.

The government has also sped up the vaccination drive. According to statics, till February 18, nearly 58.5% of St Kitts and Nevis eligible population is partially vaccinated, while 49.4% is fully vaccinated by taking the required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines.

About 5.6% of the total targeted eligible population of St Kitts and Nevis has received their booster jabs.
