St Kitts and Nevis farmers thanks govt for assisting them with free climate-smart materials
Govt of St Kitts and Nevis is receiving an outpouring of gratitude from farmers as they continue to get climate-smart materials free of cost

St Kitts and Nevis: The government of St Kitts and Nevis is receiving an outpouring of gratitude from farmers all across the country as they continue to get climate-smart materials and technologies free of cost as part of its 25 by 25 initiative.
Materials such as ground cover, drip irrigation kits, fencing wire, and poles have been distributed to over 120 farmers in response to the intensifying impacts of climate change, which continues to threaten water and food security across the region.
Leonard Herbert, a crop farmer also known as Cole gave update about the growth of his tomato and pepper crops which were planted using ground cover given to him for free from the Department of Agriculture St. Kitts, as part of the 25 by 25 initiative. This farmer has been working since the last 30 years and said that he is grateful to the Government for this assistance.
A livestock farmer named Neil Mitchell came forward and said, “Want to say thanks to agriculture for assisting me with this wire and these poles to finish my fencing.”
A crop farmer named Derrick Elliott said that with the motivation of the 25 by 25, St Kitts and Nevis has to move forward and put in the much-needed produce for the island so the citizens and residents are able to eat healthily, eat local, and be more local.
Thomas Finch, a crop farmer, thanked the Ministry for helping him a lot because “I wouldn’t get so much weed to pull out and tackle anything.
On behalf of Pure Vibe Lifestock, a livestock farmer named Raheem Bartlette expressed his gratitude to the Agriculture Department for assisting his team with various materials to secure the animals.
“I would like to say I have full gratitude to the Department of Agriculture and their 2020 vision and for helping me to receive something to help me with my farm,” outlined crop farmer Imran Christopher.
This shows the agriculture ministry’s commitment and dedication towards the farmers and the agriculture sector of St Kitts and Nevis. The Ministry has always done all the things to assist the farmers across the country and provide them with all the required help to enhance their productively, eventually benefitting the entire Federation.
