Minister Bartlett noted that at the core of these initiatives lies a profound commitment to the well being and prosperity of the people. "It underscores our unwavering dedication to fostering inclusive growth and ensuring that every Jamaican reaps the rewards of our nation's burgeoning tourism sector, reassuring our commitment to our citizens' welfare," he further said.
He also said that it is new day that is dawning for tourism, and it is a day when ESG is now becoming a big park of the DNA of business. "And we are saying to them, you are coming to invest in Jamaica, you are going to invest in community, you are going to invest in environment, and you are going to invest in governance. That's ESG, and they have walked the walk, and I'm expecting to see the full effect of that in short order," he added. It is to be noted that the business of creating more opportunities for small and medium tourism enterprises has been at the heart of driving the process of inclusivity in the industry. This shows the minister's continued efforts in uplifting the tourism sector for the benefit of all stakeholders in the industry.
The tourism minister is set to return to the House of Representatives on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, when he will make his closing presentation in this year's Sectoral Debate.
