Cardboard trafficking gang busted by police in Madrid

A criminal group that trafficked tonnes of taken waste cardboard from Madrid to Asian nations has been closed down, Spanish police say.

More than 40 speculated posse individuals had been captured on doubt of ecological offences and tax evasion.

The group has been blamed for wrongfully delivering more than 67,000 tons of waste worth €10 million (£8.4m).

A significant part of the waste was taken from the chamber claimed to reuse containers.

A waste administration organisation situated in Madrid has been sorting out the illicit assortment of paper and cardboard since 2015, police said.

The group of thugs is assessed to have cost Madrid city committee around €16 million through the loss of recyclable materials.
