Texas Starbucks offers aid to teenage, writing note on coffee cup, asking "Are you okay?"
Texas Starbucks staff is gathering praise from people across the globe for offering assistance to a teenager who was approached by a man. According to the statement of the girl's mother - Brandy Roberson, her daughter was sitting and studying alone at night in a Starbucks cafe in Corpus Christi when a man approached, sat next to her and started talking to the girl. The incident happened last week. The teenager's mother described the man as "animated". Seeing the situation, Starbucks cafe staff handed the teenage girl a coffee cup, saying that it was "an extra hot chocolate someone forgot to pick up". The cup had a note on it offering help to the girl if she was feeling unsafe.  The note on the cup stated, "Are you okay? Do you want us to intervene? If you do, take the lid off the cup". The girl's mother then cited that although her daughter was not sensing any danger or any kind of unsafe feeling, but this generous move and concern of the Starbucks staff touched her heart.   When the girl read the note and looked up, the employees were peeking at her already while waiting for a signal. Roberson then cites, "I guess he was very loud and animated, you know. She was not intimidated by it. She looked up, and all of the employees were all just staring at her, just ready to help. She was so touched by that".    After the man discovered that the girl was in contact with the staff, he left the girl alone, her mother informed. The teenager's mother applauded the staff for their instant support and smart move. She then also expressed her wish to see other food outlets and businesses training and preparing their staff for such similar kinds of situations so that they can interfere and offer assistance when their customer is actually in danger.
