Six new coronavirus cases have been recorded in St Kitts and Nevis. Authorities stated that all these cases are from the same household.

Basseterre, SKN: Six new coronavirus cases have been recorded in St Kitts and Nevis. Authorities stated that all these cases are from the same household. The patients are currently fine and in an isolation facility. The Ministry of health and wellness of St Kitts and Nevis stated that there are currently fifteen active cases of coronavirus in the country. Since 2020, 46 cases have been recorded in St Kitts and only 14 on the island of Nevis. There have been no incidents of COVID-19 fatalities in the country. After the increase in coronavirus cases, the Ministry of Education St Kitts and Nevis announced the closure of all public and private schools at primary and secondary levels for two weeks starting from Tuesday 25 May 2021. Minister Jone Powell stated that the schools have been closed to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the country.

Authorities have assured that all required steps are being taken to ensure the safety of the citizens, and people should not panic. The public has been advised to exercise extreme caution, including wearing face mask masks, respiratory and hand hygiene, social distancing. The country's health ministry stated that the Oxford Astrazeneca coronavirus vaccine is St Kitts and Nevis' primary tool in fighting coronavirus, and people must get inoculated on a priority basis. More than 47% percent of the target population have already been vaccinated in the country.
