8 more tests positive of COVID-19 in Dominica, total active cases 12

Roseau, Dominica: In the past seven days, eight new COVID 19 cases have been confirmed in Dominica. Chief medical officer, Dr David Johnson, shared the recent information in health ministry's press-briefing on coronavirus.
Dr Johnson stated that the till 25 November there are a total of 12 active cases in Dominica, out of which 11 persons are currently in the quarantine centre while one is in intensive care unit (ICU).
Chief Medical Officer also added that they did contact tracing of already confirmed patients; all contact individuals in the process tested negative for the coronavirus.
Dr David pointed out that most of the cases are coming from high- risk countries. He noted as to control the contamination; new strict protocols have been enforced.
Chief medical officer also asserted that the total recovered patients from the COVID 19 in Dominica are 68. Till now there have been zero deaths due to deadly coronavirus happened on the island.
On behalf of the health ministry of Dominica, he also provided data, adding that Dominica has done 5752 PCR tests that are based on the international standards, from which there have been 5672 negative cases reported.
About the discharge policy of the hospital, he stated that for people with mild symptoms, there is a requirement of conducting a PCR test, including 14 days of isolation and three additional days. At the same time, people who required intensive care and mechanical ventilation will be discharged as per the WHO guidelines.
Furthermore, he also appealed to the people of Dominica to wash their hands regularly with soap and sanitize hands with the sanitizer, which consists of at least 70 per cent of alcohol.
He also continued by urging people to maintain physical distancing until this COVID-19 not ended. He also appeals top to avoid hand touchings.
