The twin island nation is looking forward to welcome cricket fans and their families for this thrilling international sporting event. Minister of Tourism of Antigua and Barbuda, Charles Fernandez noted that this is an incredible chance to showcase the island nation to the world.He added that the development will also boost the economy as visitors will explore the country, stay in the hotels while indulging in everything local.
In addition to this the Cricket legend Richie Richardson also highlighted that Antiguans and Barbudans love cricket because they love the celebration and added, “We will make sure that this ICC T20 cricket tournament experience will be ‘Out of this World’!” He also invited the fans and friends from worldwide to join them and be part of this huge excitement. June 9 – Oman vs Scotland June 11 – Australia vs Namibia June 13 – England vs Oman June 15 – Namibia vs England June 19 – A2 vs D1 June 20 – B2 vs D2 June 22 – A1 vs D2 June 23 – C2 vs D1Notably, the international cricket tournament is not the only huge event being hosted in Antigua and Barbuda as people can also look forward to be part of the upcoming Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL24) from August 28 to October 6.
This tournament will be held across the Caribbean, with key matches scheduled to be held in Antigua. Also, the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium will act as the new home for the newest franchise named ‘Antigua & Barbuda Falcons’ as they will prepare to compete in CPL24.On the other hand, the England’s Men’s Cricket will also tour the West Indies for a white ball series, with matches across the Caribbean including Antigua anticipated to be announced in Spring.
While announcing all these upcoming matches, the CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority Colin C. James remarked that this year is truly a major year for cricket in the island nation and it will showcase the country’s live for this beautiful game.
