Five tests positive of COVID-19 from a same community of Dominica

As per the recent statics provided by the health ministry of Commonwealth of Dominica, the island has over 42 confirmed coronavirus cases, while there are only nine active cases.
National Epidemiologist Dr Shalauddin Ahmed stated that recently seven people have tested positive for the coronavirus, and five of these patients belongs to the same community who were identified during the contact tracing and community drive.
At the same time, the other two are residents of two different health districts.
"We have initiated another community screening drive; in this phase, we have successfully completed three communities in three different health districts," added Dr Shalauddin.
Besides this, Dr Ahmed stated that a total of 45 individuals were tested using the PCR method, while 16 were tested applying the serological testing. Only one person out these 45 people tested positive for the virus- which is claimed to be the contact of a patient already in isolation.
The official data states that 105 individuals were screened through the community drive started to do adequate testing for coronavirus in the island nation.
As per Dr Shalauddin Ahmed, in addition to the community screening, another 112 contacts were identified-69 individuals were tested, and four turned out to be positive for the coronavirus and results of some 43 tests are still pending.
The National Epidemiologist stated that community health screening is to be continued in other districts, and people are advised not to be anxious and support the health authorities in making the drive successful. He also urged people to follow all the health protocols during the celebrations of the independence day.
