Guyana: Woman who threatened to file false rape case against boyfriend sentenced 3 years in prison
As per reports, 20-year-old Princess Williams was threatening her partner to file a rape claim case against him and demanding $10 million.
A Guyana court sentenced a woman to three years in jail for blackmailing her boyfriend. As per reports, 20-year-old Princess Williams was threatening her partner to file a rape claim case against him and demanding $10 million.
The woman was sentenced to be found guilty after one month. Williams appeared in court again on Monday for sentencing and got tearful when the three-year prison sentence was announced.
Last year, the young woman was prosecuted after her ex-boyfriend filed a complaint demanding that he pay her $10 million in order for her to stop accusing him of rape.She pleaded guilty to the offence in her first court appearance but then changed her plea to not guilty, resulting in a trial. After the trial, the court found her guilty of extortion, and the punishment was postponed.
Before her sentence was handed down, the 20-year-old was charged with evading legal custody after eluding a Police guard during a remand visit to Georgetown Hospital.
