The Annual Meetings, held in October, bring united central bankers, ministers of finance and development, private sector executives, delegates from civil society groups and academics to address matters of global concern, including the world economic scope, poverty elimination, financial development, and aid effectiveness.
The Prime Minister will engage in a Governors’ assemblage with the Managing Directors of both the IMF and the World Bank and a Virtual Roundtable on SIDS Access to Finance following the theme of “Identifying Solutions for Resilient COVID-19 Recovery”.
Joining St Lucia Prime Minister Chastanet at the meetings is the Acting Permanent Secretary in the office of Finance Esther Rigobert, executives of the office of finance and the department of financial development.
This year’s assemblages will be held originally in a virtual form and feature seminars, provincial briefings, press briefings and other functions centred on the impact of COVID-19 on the global outlook, the pathway to recovery, and developments in the global economic system.
