Antigua and Barbuda: Renowned chef Andi Oliver all set to launch inaugural PepperPot Rum Shop

Antigua and Barbuda: Celebrity Chef Andi Oliver is all set to launch the inaugural 100-Day PepperPot Rum Shop pop-up experience, opening on May 8, 2024. The exclusive experience is being presented in collaboration with the Antigua Tourism Authority, Wadadli Kitchen and the Treehouse Beach Club. The Pepperpot Diaries, is transformed into a festival of food, mixology, and culture in a unique and immersive 100-day experience on the islands of Antigua and Barbuda. While announcing the launch of the event, the officials said, “This 100-day event explores who we were, who we are, and where we’re going—all through the food we eat, the things we do and the people we meet along the way.” The experience will take place at the historic Fort James area of Antigua. Over 100 sun-soaked days, the Pepperpot Rum Shop, set at the Treehouse Beach Club, will showcase a melting pot of delicious food, drinks and iconic cultural touchstones inspired by Andi’s recipes along with the rich Antiguan heritage. As the shop is all set to launch after almost a month, the renowned chef Andi Oliver said that he is so thrilled to be showcasing some exciting and unique recipes as part of the Pepperpot Rum Shop on the beautiful twin island of Antigua and Barbuda. He added that Caribbean food has not been codified in quite the same way as French and Italian and yet there are over five ways one can make rice and peas, countless recipes for BBQ chicken and at least three different types of pepperpot. The chef said that he could not wait to share some of the dishes inspired by friends, family and the Antiguan heritage. It is to be noted that throughout the 100 days of shop, the visitors will be treated to some of Andi’s most celebrated dishes, like chocolate curried goat, alongside some of the very innovative new recipes created for the event which will be based on the availability of locally sources ingredients. Moreover, the launch of this event is coinciding with the vibrant Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week which will be held from May 4 to 19. The Pepperpot Rum Shop 100 Days will include a curated programme of events, including film, wellness, art, and music events, including performances from DJ Spoony throughout the opening.
