St Kitts and Nevis: PM Drew tours Climate Smart Home ahead of official unveiling
According to the information by PM Drew, the home, which has been developed by the East Coast Housing Development Ltd and facilitated by the National Housing Corporation, is set for its official unveiling on March 14 at 9 am.

The tour of the Federal Cabinet to the model home showcases the government’s dedication to foster sustainable development and provide affordable housing solutions which cater to the modern needs of the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis.
Prime Minister Drew said that the official opening of the climate-smart home would mark a huge milestone in St Kitts and Nevis’ journey towards environmental sustainability and enhanced living standards for its residents.In addition to this, Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley said that he was pleased to join his colleagues to tour the site and added that the partnership between the ECHD and the NHC has proven to be timely and effective in meeting the construction goals and the demands of prospective homeowners.
He added that as the government continue to devise sustainable policies to ensure safer homes and livelihood, they believe their engagement with partners versed in climate policy and sustainability can steer the housing agenda in the right direction.
It is to be noted that the National Housing Corporation has partnered up with the East Coast Housing Development to construct 2400 homes for deserving families in St Kitts.[caption id="attachment_69255" align="aligncenter" width="100%"]
The project to construct 2400 Climate Smart Homes has also generated employment for a number of locals.
Moreover, the NHC announced that each house will come with a refrigerator, a stove, and a rooftop water heater to ease the residents in settling down. These climate resilient houses will be provided to the needy citizens at an affordable price, as announced by the Government of St Kitts and Nevis.
