He claimed that the civil claim filed against him makes very serious allegations in his personal capacity and in his capacity as the Minister in the Federal Government of St. Kitts and Nevis.
According to the information, a document purported to be a civil claim filed by MSR Media SKN Ltd, MSR Hotels and Co Ltd, MSR Media International LLC and Philippe Martinez in the US District Court against Minister Douglas and other parties has been in a very wide circulation. While denying all the fake allegations, Dr. Denzil Douglas said that all the claims levied against him were ridiculously false accusations made by the plaintiffs in the claim.
He added that the document is riddled with hearsay, and these claims are baseless and deliberate attacks striving to destroy his character, reputation, and legacy. Minister Douglas reiterated his pledges towards the citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis and said that over the past 34 years, he has dedicated his life to public service, and he has always upheld the highest standards of integrity and transparency in his work.He also said that he feels proud of the record of achievements of the Government that he led from 1995 to 2015 and the work he did to transform the Citizenship by Investment Programme into one of its inclusion.
The Minister noted that the programme which was modernised by his government is single handedly responsible for the socio-economic fortunes of the beautiful nation over the last twenty years and this fact will also remain ‘unchallengeable’.He also expressed his confidence in the claims being false and said that if it became necessary to prove the plaintiffs wrong in a Court of law, the accusations will prove to be untrue and his name will be vindicated.
Dr. Douglas also expressed his gratitude to all the well wishers who called him and sent his texts asking for his well being amid these false accusations and added that justice will prevail soon.
