Jamaica: 12-feet crocodile terrifies locals at Salt River, captured
Jamaica: The local residents of Jamaica were shocked on Sunday morning after they encountered a 12-foot crocodile while swimming at Salt River, Clarendon. The reptile gave the swimmers a major fright during their weekend recreation.  As soon as the crocodile was seen, the locals gathered in a huge crowd and started shouting before calling out the Caribbean Coastal Area Management team. The CCAM team and other scientists got hold of the huge reptile after taking it out from Salt River in Clarendon. Terrestrial biologist Damion Whyte said that he got a call that the reptile was seen that the members of the CCAM had responded. He said that he was in the area with some friends celebrating his birthday, so they went to give assistance.  Whyte added that the crocodile was processed, measured and a PIT tag was placed inside it following which it was relocated in a wetland to make it out of the reach of humans. The authorities said that crocodiles are protected by law and therefore should not be harmed.  The crocodile incidents in Jamaica are very rare which is why the people got very afraid to go in the water following the sight.  The authorities were seen pushing the huge creature out of the water while several locals gathered in a huge crowd and filmed the incident.
