Saint Lucian woman Kesi Fevrier found dead in Ottawa; Police probe suspicious death

Saint Lucia: A 27-year-old Saint Lucian woman has been found dead in Ottawa, Canada, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, and officials have noted that the circumstances around her death are suspicious.

Officials noted that Ottawa police reportedly went to a home in the 200 block of Guigues Avenue in Lowertown on the morning of August 22, 2026, and discovered the body of the young woman.

The deceased has been identified as Kesi Fevrier of Mon Repos.

According to reports, Fevrier's cousin said she had just returned to Ottawa, Canada, and had been studying there for ten days. She had visited and spent her summer in Saint Lucia, where she attended Carnival celebrations and a wedding.

Fevrier's cousin also described her as active in community activities and deeply involved in the Catholic Church. The cousin added that Fevrier had auditioned for Miss Universe Saint Lucia.

Fevrier's friends have also expressed their sadness through social media, sharing photos of her smiling and enjoying.

A family member said relatives have learnt that Fevrier may have been lured to the apartment where her body was discovered, to discuss a matter with someone known to her.

Ottawa police had also responded to a separate single-vehicle collision on August 22, 2026, before Fevrier's body was discovered. A man was found inside the vehicle with injuries described by police as suspicious in nature. He was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.

The officials are suspecting that these two incidents are connected to each other.
