Guns and ammunition seized on Nevis
Eleven illegal firearms removed seized by Nevis police in 2017
Two firearms and a haul of ammunition was discovered in Rawlins Village on Thursday.
In a combined patrol by police and defence force officers, a six people were searched prior to the discovery of the items nearby.
One Magnum revolver with 10 rounds of ammunition and one 9mm handgun with 42 rounds were seized.
A small amount of marijuana and a mask were also taken by authorities.
The guns will be tested by forensic officers to check if they match weapons from any unsolved crimes.
Superintendent Trevor Mills, head of the Nevis Division, said: “I commend the officers involved in this seizure.
"They saw a group of persons of interest and, acting on training, executed a search. Today we removed two illegal firearms from our communities, three so far this year in Nevis.”
