Discussing the career of Bellot, Prime Minister said he (Bellot) worked as the government's trusted and credible voice as Press Secretary under Former Prime Minister Dame Eugenia Charles administration. During his career as Press Secretary, he was respected for his professionalism and fast transmission of public information."Bellot was a man of strong convictions who, in later years, fought for the establishment of the Dominica Media and Communication Association and advocated for quality in media practise in Dominica and the region," added the Prime Minister.
His patriotic devotion for Dominica was evident in his many public statements and his efforts in magazines and other publications to preserve and promote Dominica's arts and culture.
Furthermore, applauding his life, PM said that Parry Bellot was equally steadfast in his pursuit of best practise in the public sector and the enhancement of civil employees' competency and work ethic as a Productivity Consultant for the Government of Dominica."We respected his input on public sector management and good governance practices, and we were excited to work with Mr Bellot on a variety of projects.
Nevertheless, he stated that Bellot was a zealous supporter of government policies, but he was also fair and respectful in public policy and political debates. His fairness and neutrality set the correct tone, and he should be held up as an example of how political issues can be discussed rationally and courteously between opposing sides.
"Parry Bellot will be remembered for his lifelong passion for the media as well as his contributions to Dominica's economic and entrepreneurial development," said the Prime Minister.
