Five people, including local police, were killed and 21 injured after a bus crashed into pedestrians in Longyan City, southeast China's Fujian Province, on Tuesday afternoon, according to local authorities.
The bus was hijacked by a suspect armed with a knife, who then drove the vehicle into pedestrians at around 15:20 local time. The suspect has been detained by the police.
Local authorities have launched all efforts into the rescue operation. An investigation into the incident is underway.
