UNC, Kamla Persad launches nationwide protests against hike in fuel prices
The Opposition United National Congress, led by Kamla Persad Bissessar, carried on peaceful protests across Trinidad and Tobago.

The protests in Mayaro were also shut down by the Trinidad and Tobago Police.
Constituents of Pointe a Pierre turned out in large numbers on Tuesday morning on the Claxton Bay flyover as part of the nationwide demonstrations throughout Trinidad by the UNC and other concerned citizens to stand up to the increase in fuel prices.
The protests in Pointe a Pierre were joined by the Leader of the Opposition Kamla Persad Bissessar.
United National Congress is gaining the support of people from around the country as the fuel prices reached new highs recently.
A social media user named Anthony Fleming wrote, "This hike in gas will hit many people very hard. Can't believe $100 in gas did not even half my tank,".
Another user named Mewalal Gajadhar wrote," So the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago that stand for right and have on yellow do not have any value so we will have to paint very tiny that we see in red amen,".
MP Ravi Ratiram also joined Councillor Dubraj Persad, Allan Taxi Seepersad, Vishan Mohammed and constituents of Couva North to stand up against the increase in fuel prices, the increasing food prices, skyrocketing cost of living and runaway crime happening across T&T.
