Desiree Gibbon.

A young Queens woman was murdered in Jamaica last weekend, with cops finding her blood-soaked body on the side of a road — and her throat slashed.

Desiree Gibbon, 26, was killed sometime before 7.30am on Sunday and dumped in the small St James parish town of Anchovy, which is about four miles away from Montego Bay.

Local residents discovered her body around that time, fully clothed and caked in blood, along a rural road called Long Hill, according to LoopJamaica.com.

It had been resting in some bushes, not far from the street, cops said.

Gibbon, who was born in the US, had been in Jamaica on a three month visa, the news website said.

She had decided to go to Jamaica, where her father and close family live, to earn money to help her pay for college.

“She had planned to go to film school. She wanted to direct movies. But she wanted to earn money for it. She didn't want us to pay for it. She wanted to make it on her own,” Andrea Gibbon, the victim's mother, told ABC.

Her aunt, Peggy Brunner, has started a GoFundMe page to help the family with her funeral expenses and getting her body shipped back home.

“My heart is truley [sic] broken!!!” Brunner wrote in the description.

“I asking you all to please help me and my sisiter at this very difficuylt [sic] and heartbreaking time.

“My nieces was murdered in Jamaica very brutally and we need to get her home as soon as possible!!!! Please help!!!! Thank-you all!!!!”

As of 8am AST the page has already raised US$20,355.

Jamaica has a high murder rate, with 1,265 homicides reported in the first eight months of this year.
