Dominica: UWP faces criticism for eyeing to halt construction of international airport
The evil intentions of UWP came out during a local radio show when former leader Linton was heard saying that necessary actions will be taken by the party to defame the country and to halt the construction of the airport.

The party has also faced criticism for not being able to present even a single plan which is aimed towards actual growth of the country. A citizen named Venn Detta took to Facebook to show her anger towards the party and said, “The UWP, the largest opposition party delegates have failed themselves and the party. They refuse to accept the fact that you have to be grassroots in DA to make a political impact.”Prominently for a country like Dominica, tourism is the backbone of the economy which is why the country necessitates an international airport which will bring more travellers into the country who will visit and spend their money. But different political perspectives of individuals like UWP members are destructing the country with regular baseless claims. With their continuous negative tactics and strategies, the UWP has also been undermining many public projects and aims to tarnish the image of the country at an international level. This is not the first time that this party and its members are trying to sabotage the development in the country. Earlier in 2019, Linton was heard speaking against the policies of the government and he also condemned the government for building hotels. He said that there is a building at Cabrits, but hotels can’t be refurbished after the storm as they can’t get the insurance money. He also said that several properties have gone out of business after the storm and have not been able to come back. Following the statement, the citizens expressed their anger over him with one even saying that it is shattering to listen a leader such anti-developmental language. This shows the citizen's anger, which has been developed against UWP and its members for a long due to their long efforts to defame Dominica.
