Coronavirus: Ukraine protesters attack buses carrying China evacuees

Dozens of protesters in a Ukrainian town have assaulted transports conveying evacuees from coronavirus-hit China.

The evacuees were being brought to the emergency clinic in Novi Sanzhary, in the focal Poltava locale, where they will be held in isolate for 14 days.

President Volodymyr Zelensky asked the protesters to show sympathy.

Ukraine's security administration (SSU) said a phoney email professing to be from the Ministry of Health erroneously said a few evacuees had gotten the infection.

SSU authorities are presently exploring the apparent deception, an announcement said.

Prior on Thursday, 45 Ukrainians and 27 outside nationals were flown from Wuhan in China, the focal point of the destructive flare-up, to Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine.
