Trois Piton murder: Man appears in court
One week since brutal stabbing
Wayne Janvier has been remanded in custody over the murder of a 59-year-old man in Trois Piton.
Janvier, making his first court appearance, was told he would be held at Bordelais Correctional Facility.
He is scheduled to return to court at the end of May.
Leonard Felicien was stabbed to death during an argument last Saturday in the 21st murder on the island this year.
A post-mortem showed he died at the scene from massive blood loss.Unconfirmed reports state the weapon used was a broken bottle.
Janvier was arrested soon afterwards by police.
Local sources have told WIC News that families and friends of both men held a vigil in Trois Piton last night.Author Profile
