Beloved Politician Former Nevis Premier and Former cricketer of Saint Kitts and Nevis - Vance Winkworth Amory today lost his life in London, the United Kingdom, to an unknown medical ailment, at the age of 72. Premier of Nevis - Mark Brantley expressed his condolences on the demise of Amory, as he recognizes his political tenure during the time when he held the position of Nevis Premier twice.

Brantley asserted, "In my capacity as Premier of Nevis, I address you all on the sad news that we have lost Vance Winkworth Amory - a giant who walked amongst us over the past seven decades. He was a founding member of the - Concerned Citizens' Movement and member of Team Unity."

Nevis Premier recognized the demise of Amory as a piece of tragic news, adding that his contribution to the national development of Nevis is "unforgettable." Amory served as the Premier of Nevis from 1992 to 2006 and from 2013 to 2017.

"His DNA is imprinted on every facet of Nevis and the wider Federation. It was, therefore, a great shock that we all woke this morning to tragic news. When saying he has led an embellished life of service to the people of Nevis and the wider Federation."

"Well, as a sportsman, cricket player, as athlete, banker, educator, and Politician, he has led with distinction and served the people of the wider Federation in every capacity," Brantley further emphasized.

"We have lost a truly great Nevisian, a truly great citizen, a great servant and sportsman of our country."

"I extend my deepest condolences on behalf of the people of Nevis and my family to his wife Verni, his children, his siblings, and his entire family. Your loss is our loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace; please know that your loss is our loss".

"Service of Amory to the country and its people will be long remembered. We all hope that he is now in a better place where there is no pain. History will be kind to him for his hand in the development of the country. This is indeed a very sad day for Nevis," Nevis Premier stated as he got emotional.
