International Airport is the most anticipated project in Dominica; it will be capable of handling long-haul flights. It is the most extensive and most pricey project ever to take place in the country. The construction itself will cost 800-900 million dollars. However, the government is not imposing any tax burden on its citizens; the airport is solely funded by the Citizenship by Investment Programme. Montreal Management Consultants Est (MMCE) has taken the contract of building the international airport and is expected to be complete by 2024.Dominica is transitioning from an agriculture-based economy to a tourism-based economy, the construction of the International Airport project is highly likely to provide easy access to the country. Once the construction is complete, the country will get direct connectivity of the United States, Europe, and many other countries worldwide.
