The video makes CBI programme crystal clear as it explains all aspects to the core.

Leader of opposition and UWP, Lennox Linton have been criticizing Dominica’s citizenship by investment programme time by time. Linton has made allegations of money embezzlement on the government by stating that 1.2b EC$ were missing from the treasury revenue.

SKN News published a video from a man named Eugene Dwight who is a Dominican living in the UK from the past 30 years.

Eugene who did thorough research on the subject to clarify citizens how CBI works. The video made the CBI Programme as it was illustrated in simple and crystal clear manner.

As per SKN, the person is a native of Dominica who is living in the United Kingdom from the past 30 years. He created an explanatory animated video to demonstrate the procedure through CBI Programme works. The government fee and application fee, as well as the number of citizenships awarded and applications approved, is very well stated in that video.

The main focus of the video is towards simplifying the idea of CBI to the citizens of Dominica so that they don’t get a puzzle between the number of citizenships awarded and the number of applications received.

As per the video opposition party calculated the amount 1.2b by multiplying it with US$ 50,000 which according to them is the amount charged by the government as a fee. However, according to the explanatory video, there are two major options under which citizenship is awarded, one is Real Estate and other one is EDF.

A video posted by SKN reported the government is paid per application not per citizenship and there can be more than one person in an application. It may consist more than a person, for instance it can contain the main applicant and rest of his family members. However, the calculations made by UWP were not as how the money is delivered to the government.

Lennox Linton has asked Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit to make public the revenue received by the government under the CBI programme. Nevertheless, the government took a step ahead and instructed worlds second-largest audit firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) to examine exactly how Dominica’s CBI Programme has applied generated funds towards key projects and development areas over a six-year period.

In order to carry out their evaluation, PwC travelled to Dominica, where it was able to uncover the facts for itself, a length that, to be frank, foreign investigative agencies themselves do not go to. PwC’s report heralded Dominica’s CBI Programme for generating “tangible impacts on almost every aspect of life in Dominica", and brought complete transparency to the spending funded by the Programme, eschewing the speculation created by Linton’s claims. The conjecture surrounding Housing Dominica under Dominica’s Economic Diversification Fund (EDF) option are also clearly explained both in the report produced by PwC, and my earlier report.
