Dominica has escaped any major damage from the storm

Dominica, which had a tropical storm warning lifted yesterday, was remarkably unscathed by the passage of Hurricane Irma over the Windward Islands.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit released a statement today.
At present all schools on the island are closed, as is Douglas-Charles airport – although it is planned to open again at 1pm local time.
