T&T records new 108 COVID-19 infections

The Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago has reported 108 new infections of the COVID-19 deadly mutant on 27 July 2021, according to the novel coronavirus update report shared by the Ministry of Health.

Trinidad and Tobago: The Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago has reported 108 new infections of the COVID-19 deadly mutant on 27 July 2021, according to the novel coronavirus update report shared by the Ministry of Health.  With the arrival of these new COVID-19 infections, the total number of active cases rise to 5,789. As of 27 July 2021, a total of 30,394 patients have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 virus.  The report by the Health Ministry further noted that so far, 1048 individuals have died amid the novel coronavirus pandemic in T&T, while 316 patients are still in the hospital facility.  In total, 88 patients with COVID-19 infection are in the step-down facilities, 140 are in the state quarantine facilities, whereas a total of 5,277 individuals have isolated themselves in their respective homes.  As per the report, in the Caribbean island, a total of 357,332 individuals have received their first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 185,020 people have received their second dose of the novel coronavirus vaccine and are now fully vaccinated against the contagious COVID-19 virus.  So far, in total, 260,920 people have been tested for the novel coronavirus, out of which in total 109,383 COVID-19 tests of the citizens were conducted at the private facilities, and 151,537 people were tested at the public health facilities.  The samples of these new 108 COVID-19 infections were taken during the period of 23 July to 26 July 2021.  Since the COVID-19 pandemic has started, the Caribbean island has reported 37,771 total confirmed cases of the contagious coronavirus.  If citizens of T&T want to obtain any updates & information related to the COVID-19 virus, they can visit the health ministry’s official website at – www.health.gov.tt/covid19. This rating by S&P distinguishes the Caribbean island from the other nations in the region and reflects the island's position as a safe investment place.
