The government of Dominica has set up mobile application units at various sister islands to ease the application processing and smoothen the transition from a regular passport to an e-passport.  As per the Ministry of National Security and Home Affairs, more than 24,000 e-passports have been already issued by the government.  Head of the Immigration Department, Inspector Deryck St Rose, stated that officials are working extra time to meet the deadlines, and the applications are steadily moving.
