St Kitts & Nevis expects around 14 cruise this week

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The twin-island nation is expecting around 14 cruise calls this week. As cruise tourism holds an important place in the economic growth of the country, the government is counting it as a remarkable achievement.

Since the restrictions because of the deadly virus, the country was facing a shortage of cruise ships and to overcome this loss, the ministry of tourism and the ministry of health has worked tirelessly to bring the cruise traffic back.

On Sunday, the ministry of tourism and Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris shared the weekly cruise schedule (from 13th to 19th February 2022).

On Sunday, 13th February 2022, Celebrity Millennium reached Port Zante, followed by Enchantment of the Seas.

On Tuesday, 15th February 2022, one vessel reached the Port Zante – Enchanted Princess.

On Wednesday, 16th February 2022, four cruises will reach the dock; of these, three will be stationed at Port Zante and one at the South Friar’s Bay. Carnival Magic, Celebrity Apex, Regal Princess, and Seabourn Odyssey will berth on Wednesday.

On Thursday, 17th February 2022, three cruises will arrive at the two different ports – Port Zante and Basseterre Harbour. Three vessels, Aida Diva, Star Flyer, and Star Legend, will berth on 17th February.

On Friday, 18th February 2022, only one vessel – Viking Sea, will reach Port Zante.

On Saturday, 19th February 2022, three vessels will come to Port Zante. Explorer of the Seas, followed by MSC Seaview and Norwegian Epic, will berth on Saturday.

St Kitts and Nevis tourism authority announced the eased travel restrictions a month ago to enter St Kitts and Nevis on a cruise ship.

According to the authority of the island country, only fully vaccinated passengers are allowed to arrive at St Kitts and Nevis. The rules were implemented for children of age 12 and more. The exemptions for the rule were children under the age of 12, accompanying their fully vaccinated parents, citizens & residents of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
