Saint Lucia Fuel Prices: Kerosene increased; Gasoline, Diesel remain unchanged

The Government of Saint Lucia has announced adjustments to the prices of fuel products effective from Monday. While the retail prices of the 100-lb cylinder and kerosene have witnessed a minor increase, the prices of gasoline, diesel, and LPG 20-lb and 22-lb cylinders remain the same as earlier.
While notifying the public about the price changes, the Government said that it is being done in keeping with changes in international oil prices and the Saint Lucia Government’s application of the modified market pass-through petroleum pricing mechanism. According to the information, price of Kerosene has increased slightly. The old price of the product was $11.50 per gallon which have now been raised to $11.69 per gallon. The price of 100 Pound Cylinder (45.36kg) has also increased by $2 from $277.94 to $279.94 per cylinder.The fuel price of the products that will remain unchanged are as follows:
The price of diesel remains the same at $4.07 per liter or $16.50 per gallon The cost of gasoline is stable at $2.80 per liter or $16.50 per gallon The price of 20 Pound Cylinder (9.07 kg) is also the same at $36.00 per cylinder (subsidized) The price of 22 Pound Cylinder (9.98 kg) remains the same at $39.60 per cylinder (subsidized)In addition to this, the government has also stated that it will continue to use subsidies to absorb the increased prices of imported petroleum products. It also informed the citizens and residents of Saint Lucia that the next adjustment of the retail price of fuel products will take place on May 4, 2024.
The Government said that it is committed towards the citizens and residents of Saint Lucia to providing them as much relief as possible from higher market prices and aims to ease their burden while assisting them by providing subsidies on the cooking gas.Every month, the Government announces a shift in the prices of petroleum products to keep up with international prices.
