St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew recalled his accomplishments in the health sector over the past six months. The Labour Party administration continues to make major advancements in every field since they assume office in August 2022.  He said that one of the major achievements was the purchasing of MRI machine for the Joseph N France General Hospital. He said that the sourcing of this machine will ease the citizens and residents of the country.  Also, the administration worked to provide round the clock doctor service at Pogson Medical Center in order to assist citizens seeking for emergency medical services.  In a notable accomplishment, PM Drew repealed the COVID-19 Bill (Prevention and Control) as soon as he assumed to office along with removing all pandemic related health and travel restrictions.  By opening up the country, St Kitts and Nevis was able to recover from all the impacts felt during the pandemic.  The Prime Minister also provided financial assistance for any child in need of medical assistance overseas under which several parents of St Kitts and Nevis have benefitted since the past two years.  The Labour Party administration also purchased new cataract equipment for the JNF hospital, which allowed the citizens to get surgeries in the country for which they had to travel overseas earlier. Also, the chemical cabinet at oncology unit of the hospital was upgraded.  The SKNLP government also settled a $2 million debt owed to medical suppliers by the previous administration. In addition to this, PM Terrance Drew also resumed in-depth planning sessions between both the Federal and Nevis Island Administration Ministries of Health.  Meanwhile, ten elderly care assistants have also been employed at the Cardin Home who take care of the ones residing over there. The operating hours of the JNF Blood Bank has also been extended as well as the administration has introduced a National Blood Drive Exercise and launched the blood donation campaign at JNF.
