Government of Belize & CDB sign grant agreement for BNTF 10th Programme
The Government of Belize notified that via Social Investment Fund (SIF) signed a grant deal with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) under the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) 10th Programme on July 16, 2021.

Belize: The Government of Belize notified that via Social Investment Fund (SIF) signed a grant deal with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) under the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) 10th Programme on July 16, 2021.
Contracting on behalf of the Govt. of Belize where Prime Minister John Briceño; Mrs. Narda Garcia, chair of the SIF Board; and Mr. Valentino Shal, director of the board.
The BNTF Programme is the principal programme of the CDB pointed at reducing the incidence of poverty in low-income, vulnerable communities. Under the programme, sub-projects are performed to improve access to quality education and training, water and sanitation, basic community access and drainage, livelihoods improvement and human resource development services.
According to the Government of BelizeThese projects contribute significantly to addressing the basic needs of Belizeans, creating opportunities to integrate residents into the national development grid of Belize.
The sub-projects will be implemented by SIF, the implementing agency for the Government of Belize tasked with addressing the basic needs of all Belizeans.
Project costs and the financing plan are estimated at US$5,743,460, with CDB providing US$5,031,000 in grant funds and US$712,460 counterpart funding from the Government of Belize.
Since its inception, the BNTF has encouraged the implementation of over three thousand sub-projects that have profited more than three million persons in vulnerable communities.

Ministry of Health & Wellness noted that it had started its COVID19 vaccine campaign countrywide.
"We are officially at Phase 5, calling out all peoples 18 years and older to go receive vaccinated. Persons from Phases 1, 2, 3, & 4 are still encouraged to get vaccinated." press statement added.
Health Ministry of Belize urged you to get vaccinated. We also advise that even after getting vaccinated, persons must continue wearing a face mask properly in public, maintain consistent physical distancing, avoid social gatherings, and wash and sanitize hands often.
