Dominica: 8 young girls to compete for Dominica Carnival Princess 2024 crown

Being held as part of the most anticipated Mas Domnik 2024 Carnival, the pageant will feature several rounds, including modelling, question-answer sessions and others, based on which the winner will be chosen.

Dominica: Eight young contestants are all set to compete for the title and the crown of the 2024 Carnival Princess. The event will be held on Sunday, January 28, at the Carnival City, Windsor Park Stadium. Being held as part of the most anticipated Mas Domnik 2024 Carnival, the pageant will feature several rounds, including modelling, question-answer sessions and others, based on which the winner will be chosen. Dominica’s carnival season opens this Saturday, January 6 2024, and will feature the bold young women for the various pageants, traditional costumes such as Bwa Bwa, Darkies, Sensay, Ban Move, Lapo Kabwit, calypsonians, flag wavers, costume bands, and revellers from across the island. The show is being hosted by the Rotaract Club of Roseau, and the organisers have officially introduced this year's contestants to the general public through their official Facebook account.

The contestants for the Dominica Carnival Princess 2024 are as follows:

Najanee Euzebe - Sineku Primary School

Acquiera Benjamin - Concord Primary School

Shadissa Walsh - Wesley Primary School

Deanna Jacob- Wills Strathmore Stevens Primary School

Catalina Bougouneau - Woodfordhill Primary School

Mirielle Blanchard - Convent Preparatory School

Tahylar Xavier - Pioneer Preparatory School

Ijnanyah James - St. Martin Primary School

The organisers also shared images of the contenders from the sundress round at Jungle Bay, Dominica. This round was held on Wednesday and was hosted to reveal the faces of the contestants.

In this photoshoot, all the girls were asked to dress up beautifully in dresses having flowers imprinted or designed on them.

As all of them looked lovely, the citizens and residents of Dominica extended their best wishes to them through Facebook.

"Let's go, Mirielle, my Hospitality Princess, Beauty and Brains, that's what you have, go for the Crown girl," wrote a user named Glenda Bertrand, while another user, Pierre, said, "Such beautiful little girls. Wishing them well the one in the yellow dress with the big hat looks especially adorable. #Princesses."

At the age of 11, Najah impressed the judges and the audience alike and secured the title as well as the best costume and the People's Choice Award during the competition.
