St Lucia confirms 14 new cases of COVID-19, 346 active cases

St Lucia: The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly affairs confirmed 14 new cases of COVID-19 in St Lucia on Sunday, October 31 2021. The Ezra Long Laboratory confirmed the cases from a total number of 106 samples processed on Saturday which were collected during October 28 and 30.
According to data provided by the laboratory, the number of positive cases makes up to 7.6% of the total 106 samples processed on that date. This brings the total number of cases confirmed in the country to 12,573 since the outbreak of COVID-19. The Ministry of Health also confirmed the recovery of eight individuals who were earlier diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus. This reduces the active number of cases to 346 from which, one individual is in a critical stage and six others are severely ill and are admitted at the respiratory hospital in Saint Lucia. While providing an update on vaccination, the Ministry of Health confirmed that a total number of 36,772 individuals have received their first dose of Astrazeneca vaccine and 32,117 persons have received their second dose, becoming fully vaccinated against the global pandemic. A total of 14,514 individuals have received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine; therefore, 9776 persons have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.Latest
