Belize: A two-weeks old baby tests COVID-19 positive
A two-week-old baby reportedly tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in Belize on Wednesday. As per sources, the case was recorded in the Orange Walk district.

The health officials continue the contact tracing to determine how the baby was infected since the mother is COVID-19 negative. The baby remains admitted at the Northern Regional Hospital.
The most significant number of cases are seen in the Orange Walk District. Five new cases were recorded on Tuesday, with Trial Farm Village recording three of those five cases.
Belize recorded a total of 12,994 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 327 deaths reported since 2020.Minister of Health and Wellness - Claudette Dakers-Norales stated that a total of 931 samples were tested, and 24 resulted positive for COVID-19. The authorities stated that 13 new recoveries have also been reported.
The Ministry of Health also stated that no COVID-19 person is in the Intensive Care Unit, and no new mortalities have been recorded. Currently, there are 153 active coronavirus cases in the country and contact tracing is also undergoing to identify any other individuals who are showing flu-like symptoms and 234 such individuals are under investigation.Since March 2020, the health department has tested 148,799 samples nationally, and only 13,083 resulted positive for COVID19.
The ministry of health also stated that the Belize district recorded eight new cases, with San Pedro accountable for four of the cases and three in Belize City. Besides this, the Corozal district also recorded four new cases, with Corozal Town liable for two of those cases, and the Cayo district reported two new cases. Stann Creek and Toledo districts reported each one new case.
COVID-19 vaccines are the only resort of lowering the coronavirus cases across the world. The medical structure all over the world has seen an exhausted medical structure due to the pandemic. However, things are slowly coming back to life.
