Reg-Mix 2017: Reggae star Sizzla confirmed as headliner
He will perform alongside local artists including Halibut, White Fairy, Triple Kay and Keks Mafia.

The 2017 Reg-Mix concert has announced international reggae star Sizzla Kalonji as its headliner.
He will perform alongside local artists including Halibut, White Fairy, Triple Kay and Keks Mafia.
The event, at the Newtown Savannah, will take place on 4 August.
Tyrone Alleyne, one of the Reg-Mix organisers, told Vibes Radio that the gig will mix a number of Dominica’s popular musical genres.“The concept is reggae and bouyon meets cadence calypso and soca, and to top it off we going to have one of the hottest international reggae artist right now, Sizzla Kalonji, featured.”
Speaking in the same interview, Kemai John, a member of the concert’s planning committee, said that they want to cater to different audiences.
“Many of these genres are very popular in Dominica and the wider Caribbean, and some were born in Dominica specifically bouyon, and we want to push our own music that is indigenous to Dominica as well as music that we have been growing with,” he added.
Sizzla, whose real name is Miguel Orlando Collin, is well known in the reggae world, with 21 of his albums reaching Billboard's Top Reggae Album chart.
His hits include Thank You Mama, Give Me a Try and Just One of Those Days.
Tickets for the 2017 Reg-Mix concert are available at the African Liberation Venue, and the Stone of Italy. They cost $70 if bought in advance. Tickets are the gate will be $75, or $85 for elevated seats.
