Dominica govt goes in parliament on Monday to pass the "Rules-Based Fiscal Responsibility Framework" resolution
PM Roosevelt Skerrit said his government will go to the parliament on Monday to pass the Rules-Based Fiscal Responsibility Framework resolution.

PM said the government held discussions with various stakeholders to finalize the framework associated with the new resolution.
He said the Rules-Based Fiscal Responsibility Framework" resolution is crucial as it will assist the country to continue to provide robust and prudent management of the public finances. PM said the framework would also help in overseeing the more comprehensive budget process and enhance the fiscal discipline, increasing transparency and accountability in matters related to the macroeconomic management of Dominica.

"Fiscal Responsibility Framework is really something that every family, every business should seek to have because it will help you cushion the impact of external shocks, and even the pandemic that we are facing o natural disasters," said PM Skerrit.
Furthermore, Prime Minister stated that Dominica aims to attain a debt to Gross Domestic Product target of 60 percent by 2035.PM Skerrit said the government also aims to bring a bill to modernize public procurement in Dominica. He said the act is entitled to public procurement and the disposal of public property. It will provide for the retention and
disposal of public property in accordance with the principles of good governance.
Speaking about the new COVID-19 variant Omicron, PM said everyone should keep their guard up and follow the guidelines. He said the new mutation is potentially more transmissible. He also advised more people, including children, to get vaccinated.
Besides this, Prime Minister also talked about his recent meeting with entertainers and asked them to organize a working group that will make structured recommendations to the government on the best approaches to resolving the issues they face.
He also said the government is bringing more exciting times for Dominica, and he called on people to look with hope at the developments already underway in the country.
