Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit stated on Sunday that the government continue to invest in its National Programme to provide high-quality climate-resilient housing solutions to its citizens.

Roseau,Dominica: Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit stated on Sunday that the government continue to invest in its National Programme to provide high-quality climate-resilient housing solutions to its citizens.
Prime Minister added during his Anou Palay- A weekly broadcast show that the construction of housing units some places is completed that includes Castle Bruce, La Plaine, Cotton Hill, George Town, Grand Bay, Grand Fond, San Sauveur and Bellevue Choppin.
He added that safe living conditions positively contributes to the overall well-being of the people.
"We are empowering people to live more wholesome lives and create a better future for the families."
Furthermore, he added that construction of a live disaster shelter have been completing and the government is moving ahead with construction of a Regional Emergency Resource Shelter at Castle Bruce and Jimmit to ensure that the citizens are prepared and protected against the natural disasters that often target the region.
Dominica is moving ahead to become the world's first climate-resilient nation, and the government is constructing over five thousand homes capable of standing high even in any category 5 hurricane.
A year ago, the ruling Dominica Labour Party declared victory once again after the 2019 general elections. During the one year anniversary, the Prime Minister also listed down the achievements of his government.
He added that continuance of funding to the National Programme that runs the housing initiative is one of the many achievements that the government made in just one year.
He noted that the government also legalised small possession of marijuana and sealed the record of those who were convicted with a small possession of marijuana in the country.
Furthermore, Dr Skerrit stated funding to entrepreneurship have been significantly increased, and entrepreneurship visa programmes are started to assist small businesses in the country.
